What Does a Transmission Inspection Involve?

During our transmission inspection and diagnostic test, we’ll check your transmission fluid and perform a road test to evaluate drive rage, upshift and downshift quality and timing, passing gear, noises, vibrations, 4x4 performance, park-hold and more. We’ll also place your vehicle on a lift to check for external issues, such as vacuum connections, fluid retention, axles, shafts and more.

The best way to prevent damage to your transmission is to regularly monitor your fluid levels. You can also bring your vehicle to us at Mechanical Care to ensure that everything works optimally. If we can catch a transmission issue early on, we can quickly repair it to spare you from any major damage.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is involved in car air conditioning servicing?

Over time, the air conditioning gases in your car will escape from the AC or climate control system. This is because car air conditioning systems are designed to leak. Manufacturers recommend that air conditioning systems (AC and climate control) are serviced every two years, which includes evacuating the refrigerant gas, replacing the lubricating oil and carrying out a system leak test. Maintenance will save you money in the long run and guarantee you comfort in the hottest months.

  • Should I expect additional service items?

If there are any additional service items, we’ll quote on these while we’re on-site. We always get your approval before any such work is carried out. If we don’t have your approval, no further work is done on your vehicle—only what was originally agreed to at first contact. There will be no nasty surprises when you pay for your service.
